Our Projects

Agaliawamu Munomukabi Women’s Group (AMWG) delivers impactful, community-rooted projects that uplift women, youth, and children by addressing economic, social, mental, and environmental challenges. Through strategic partnerships and local leadership, we design and implement interventions that promote dignity, resilience, and opportunity.

Below are highlights of our current and flagship projects:

👧🏽 Girls As Frontliners 

Location: Mutungo, Banda, and Mbuya Parish
Donor: Children’s Rights & Violence Prevention Fund (CRVPF)

The Adolescent Girls Power Program is a two-year initiative aimed at transforming the lives of 300 adolescent girls aged 10–19 years. The project focuses on empowering girls as Frontliners in their communities, challenging harmful cultural norms, and equipping them with the tools to make informed life choices.

Key components include:

  • Creation of safe spaces for learning, reflection, and healing

  • Life skills and leadership training

  • Mentorship and confidence-building workshops

  • Dialogue sessions with parents and community leaders to dismantle barriers

  • Support for education re-entry and vocational skilling

Through this project, girls gain the agency to speak up, pursue their aspirations, and influence community attitudes toward gender equity.

 

Code4Her Project

As part of our digital empowerment program, Code4Her equips diverse women and girls with critical coding and technology skills to open up future career paths.

The project aims to empower 200 young people by 2025 with technical skills that are vital in today’s digital economy.

Under the digital empowerment program, AMWG is on a mission to empower diverse women and girls by unlocking a world of opportunities through acquiring tech skills that are not only captivating but also pivotal for their future careers.

This project aims at empowering 200 young people by 2025 with coding skills to help them provide the technical expertise, dedication to deliver exceptional services and support to thrive in the Tech industry.

The Self-Made Woman

This project targets single mothers, child mothers, and unemployed youth. It provides them with industrial and adaptive skills, financial literacy, and start-up resources to promote financial independence.

Training includes:

Urban farming

Financial literacy

Soap and candle making

Petroleum jelly, shampoo, and liquid soap production

Kameeza Project

AMWG facilitates community-based savings groups that provide access to savings, credit, and basic insurance. 

The program aims to improve financial literacy and increase the economic resilience of over 3,300 households by enhancing their ability to manage finances and withstand economic shocks.

Ghetto Go Green Project

This project aims at strengthening community preparedness, anticipatory action, resilience and adaptation to floods through creating green safe spaces in the slums of Nakawa characterised by urban farming.

This create conclusive inclusive environment for the community helping them live a dignified life with opportunities to thrive.
